Issue One: Myths, Legends and Fairytales

September/October 2013

For our launch issue we chose the theme of Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales. These articles by very different authors challenge some of the assumptions and paradigms about women, both real and imagined, which have shaped the archetypes which pervade our culture and effect all women’s lives. Psychologist Professor Uta Frith talks about the characters in the fairytales and folklore stories her mother told her, who formed her role models as a child. Maev Kennedy is inspired by the fierce women hidden by history and we celebrate the Greenham Common Women.
